Will install and support/update code...for food

By the grace of God, for more than a year, I've been creating Moodle innovations (at least I'd like to think of them as such). Many of the innovations took many hours and even days to bring to fruition. I've made available the code to many of the mini-projects which catered mainly for Moodle 1.9.x users and administrators. I've since decided to make use of my creative and programming talents to offer my services of Moodle coding and installation of code to anyone who may have the need, but not the time to do so.

 Mug Shot time

I am therefore offering my time and services at a reasonable fee. Why? Firstly, my readership has demanded it. I have received requests from the Continent and the States for installation and support work of 3rd-party Moodle modules and plugins. Secondly, Moodle plugins are complicated and the installation, customization, and testing is time-consuming and tricky. Hire a professional like me. Think of the time, stress and money you'll save.

Thirdly, I charge so that I can continue to do what I LOVE doing. That is turning creative thoughts and ideas into real code that when implemented will impact your orgaisation's Learning Management System. Making life better for your teachers and students. Bringing Moodle to life. Making it exciting and vibrant. Educating lives. On a volunteer basis, I can't guarantee that I won't be called away to do paying jobs. I have a family, a wife and two young pre-teen children to support. I'm a real person with a house mortgage to service. I have bills to pay every month. Doing what I am doing aligns my passion with my family responsibilities as the head of the house. In other words, getting paid means a professional commitment that my services will always be available for those who need it.

If you like what you see on this blog, you are most welcome to help yourself to the code found scattered like little baubles throughout my older 75 or more odd blog posts. I'm making them available to all Moodlers, teachers and educators. If you, dear reader, want to install the code yourself, you can. Have you personally benefited from my posts? Has your institution implemented any of the innovative ideas and code that originated from my blog? If the answer is a solid "Yes" to either question or to both questions, then I then URGE you to make a donation by clicking on the Donate button below. The button is also found on the right-hand sidebar of Moodurian.blogspot.com. Why donate?  Well, I'm setting my sights on churning out more Moodle 2.0.x development for future posts on Moodurian, and SO, your contribution will encourage me. Your contribution will ensure the continuance of innovative ideas from my finite mind and spur me on to further Moodle innovation.

Finally, for readers of this blog who require professional help in installing the Moodle modifications and plugins, I am offering a Special Installation Package (SIP) with continual support and updates. On my blog you will see a new SIP badge that looks like this:

Fee for Plugin/Module Installation, Support & Updates

It's an extra paypal button with the words "Buy Now". As for my recent and future posts, how much are my charges for work done to install and support PHP/HTML/MySQL code? Well I'll charge US Dollars for work done, and the amount will depend on the complexity of the code and time spent on development. And some work asked of me may be beyond my present skills. If or when that is so, I will point you elsewhere.

Finally, if you have benefited from my programming talents and innovative ideas on improving Moodle for the classroom, I welcome you to leave a testimony on this blogpage for all and sundry to read and to ponder.

  1. Hi Frankie,
I am very happy you have decided to offer your "installation of code to anyone who may have the need, but not the time to do so." That is me to the T.

It was a real convenience to have you install your custom code on my website. With my teaching load, new baby in the house, and the extra work already involved in administrating a busy Moodle site, it was great to have you install the Stamp Collection plugin for me. And the price can't be beat! Okay, it wasn't free, but it was easy and I am happy to be able to support your excellent work on this blog.

I'll definitely be using your services again in the near future!
