A Moodle Sensation! Real-Time Drag and Share Collaboration Tool by Felix Albertos Marco

A new Collaboration Tool named Drag-And-share.
It's revolutionary and ground-breaking to say the least!

1. Drag a file (text file, PDF, Ms word, etc.) from your desktop to the workspace
2. Drag a file icon from the workspace to the magnifying glass to view the file's contents
3. In some cases (e.g., a Ms word file), Action #2 results in the file being downloaded!
4. Double click on the workspace to create a new text file. Enter its title, text and save it.
5. To view the text file, drag the text file to the Magnifying glass icon.
6. Oh by the way, when two or more users are online at the same time, you will see the other user's mouse point move in real-time. They will see your mouse pointer move as well!
So this is a Collaboration Tool - prototype version. The later version is touted to be more powerful and more robust! For more information, go to this forum on or to

Autohide CSS Code for Moodle 2.2 to reduce clutter in Administration "Turn Editing On" mode

My first post for under the Totara LMS banner focused on Mark Ward's Autohide CSS code. This is great news for Moodle course administrators who hit the "Turn Editing On" button often. The Moodlenews post here shows how you can reduce the Editing icons visual overload.

Thanks to the wonder of AJAX and Mark Ward's ingenuity, Moodle course administration just became more FUN.

Improving the Journal Activity for Moodle 1.9x - great for reflections

David MonllaĆ³'s Journal activity for Moodle 1.9 is one of my all-time favourite Moodle activities.

Applications for the Journal (what's hot about it)
I use it a lot in my Intensive English classes where students have to post a write up of their speech. I can see each student's work, but each student only can view his or her write up. In other words, the student has a private view of his workspace. Very nice. The Journal can also be used by the student to reflect on a particular topic, and the student can edit and modify and refine his or her answer over time.
